Pakistan’s Weekly Inflation Declines By 0.25%: Reports PBS

The latest data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reveals a noteworthy development in the country’s economic landscape.

A minor decline

The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), which serves as a crucial measure of weekly inflation, recorded a decline of 0.25 percent during the week that concluded on September 14. This decrease is reflected in the Combined Index, which stood at 279.18 compared to 279.87 just a week earlier, marking a modest but significant shift.

It’s particularly insightful when viewed in a yearly context, as the index was substantially lower at 221.14 on the same date in 2022. Breaking down the data further, the report highlights that among the 51 items tracked, the average prices of 24 items saw an increase, 08 items experienced a decrease, and 19 items remained stable.
