The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declined a significant financial offer from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to implement a hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy. According to reports, the proposal involved hosting India’s matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which PCB rejected.
Pakistan remains firm in its stance to host the tournament in its entirety on home soil. The PCB has written to the International Cricket Council (ICC), seeking confirmation of its position. However, the ICC has yet to respond in writing.
The BCCI has cited security concerns for its unwillingness to play in Pakistan, suggesting Dubai as an alternative venue for its matches. Despite this, Pakistan insists on holding India’s matches in Lahore, maintaining its position backed by historical examples from the 1996 and 2003 World Cups, where venues were not altered due to non-participation.

The standoff may be resolved through voting, where Pakistan could face challenges. Meanwhile, the PCB has hinted at a “minus-India” formula and emphasized the need for India to submit its stance in writing.
This development has raised tensions, with Pakistan potentially reconsidering future cricketing ties with India.
