Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a Rs. 150 million reward for Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem in recognition of his historic achievement at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Nadeem, who set a new Olympic record with a javelin throw of 92.97 meters, was honored at the PM House on Tuesday, where he received a standing ovation. The Prime Minister also awarded Rs. 10 million to Nadeem’s coach, Salman Iqbal Butt, for his crucial role in the athlete’s success.

In a special tribute, the Prime Minister revealed that a major road in Islamabad, stretching from the F-10 roundabout to Khayaban-i-Iqbal, will be named after Arshad Nadeem. This decision was made to celebrate the athlete’s contribution to the nation and inspire future generations.

The National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to honor Nadeem, recommending the Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Pakistan’s highest civil award. Pakistan Post also announced the release of a commemorative stamp to celebrate Nadeem’s achievement, available from August 14 in major cities.
