PM Shehbaz Sharif Takes And Wins ‘Vote Of Confidence’ In National Assembly

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reportedly made the decision to solicit a vote of confidence from the National Assembly and managed to win it as of Thursday, according to insiders.

According to the details, the resolution was tabled by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto on which a total of 180 MNAs voted “Yes” and posed their trust in Sharif’s leadership. The vote was held after the National Assembly rejected the bill presented by the government to provide necessary funds to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Shehbaz Sharif secured the support of the majority of the parliamentarians.

Reportedly, it was previously planned for the afternoon of Wednesday but was later delayed until today. Presently, over 190 members of the National Assembly (MNA) are in attendance, with a minimum of 172 members required to constitute a majority.

Further, it was revealed that the opposition members may be participating in the voting process as well. Sharif’s decision was aimed at proving his support among the lawmakers and addressing the concerns raised by the opposition.
