Cervical Cancer Awareness or Outrage?

The marketing agency Schbang and lifestyle portal Hauterfly, which are responsible for the controversial collaboration, issued apologies and acknowledged their involvement. Schbang emphasized the alarming statistics in India, revealing that in 2022, the country registered 123,907 cervical cancer cases and 77,348 deaths.

Defending their methods, Schbang stated, “This is the first time in the history of this country that the words’ Cervical Cancer’ have appeared in 1000+ headlines,” highlighting the campaign’s impact on public awareness.

Pandey’s agency expressed regret for any distress caused but defended their approach, asserting, “While we regret any distress caused, if the move results in spreading much-needed awareness and preventing deaths, that would be its real impact.”
