Barrister Ali Saif, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government’s information adviser, has announced that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) plans to invite Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to address its upcoming protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad. Jaishankar is expected to visit Pakistan for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the capital.

Speaking on Geo News’ program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath” on Friday, Saif stated that PTI has the right to protest peacefully under the constitution. He emphasized that the party’s decision to invite the Indian foreign minister is aimed at showing that Pakistan upholds democratic values and the freedom to protest.

Saif highlighted that while India claims to be the largest democracy, the federal government is attempting to convey the message that protests are not allowed in Pakistan. By inviting Jaishankar, PTI aims to showcase the strength of democracy in Pakistan and the public’s ability to voice their opinions freely.
