Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has banned police officers from using social media platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram while on duty. This decision comes after a series of viral incidents involving officers, and strict disciplinary action will be taken against violators.

In a high-level meeting in Lahore, CM Maryam also approved a Rs1 billion grant to improve the Punjab police’s capabilities, especially during the holy month of Rabiul Awwal. To increase accountability, she ordered the use of body cameras by police officers during duty hours.
