Afghanistan’s star spinner, Rashid Khan, has etched his name in cricket history by becoming the fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). This phenomenal achievement came during the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, taking him only 92 matches to achieve the milestone.

Khan surpasses the previous record held by New Zealand’s Tim Southee, who reached 150 wickets in 118 matches. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan sits close behind, needing just one more wicket to join this elite club.

Rashid Khan’s record-breaking performance came alongside a crucial victory for his team. Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh, securing their place in the T20 World Cup semi-finals for the first time ever. Khan himself played a pivotal role in the win, bagging a spectacular 4/23 bowling spell.
