Royal Mint Of UK Launches Gold Bar Depicting Khana-e-Kaaba Ahead Of Ramadan

The Royal Mint, Britain’s oldest company and official maker of coins, has unveiled a gold bar specially designed for the country’s Muslim community. The bar features an intricate depiction of the Kaaba, the holiest site in Islam, ahead of Ramadan.

Limited production, great significance

The release of the gold bar is seen as a nod to the growing importance of the Muslim community in the UK. The bar is designed to be both a collectible item and an investment opportunity, with a limited production run of just 4,000 bars. The price of a 20g bar (fine gold) is starting from £1,112.58 (PKR 378,062).

On creating the precious bar in consultation with the Muslim Council of Wales, Andrew Dickey, director of precious metals at the Royal Mint stated, “Drawing on more than 1,100 years of minting expertise, we have applied our expert craftsmanship to create a beautiful representation of the Kaaba, the holiest place on earth for many Muslims”.

“This Kaaba gold bar, contained within beautiful Islamic-themed protective packaging, makes a special gift, allowing our customers to give the precious gift of gold during Eid Al Fitr, or as a secure investment with its 999.9g of fine gold containment”, he added.

Raising funds for the victims of Turkey-Syria earthquake

Upon launching, the Royal Mint initially donated three bars to be raised at charity events gathering aid for the victims of the horrendous Turkey-Syria earthquake victims. “Ramadan is a time of giving, so we’re proud to have supported Islamic Relief, a leading Muslim charity, through the donation of Kaaba gold bars at three UK events, raising upwards of £9,000”, said Andrew Dickey.

The design of the gold bar is incredibly detailed, featuring the Kaaba surrounded by a traditional Islamic pattern. The bar also bears the Royal Mint’s iconic mint mark and a unique serial number, adding to its value as a collectible item.
