Sahir Lodhi Proposes Team of Engineers to Solve Pakistan’s Water and Electricity Crisis

Renowned actor and TV host Sahir Lodhi has proposed an ambitious plan to address Pakistan’s ongoing water and electricity crises. During a recent television appearance, Lodhi expressed his frustration with the current state of affairs and suggested assembling a team of 300 engineers to tackle the issues head-on.

He recommended the formation of a commission to oversee the allocation of funds and pledged to resolve the crises within 18 months. Lodhi criticized political leaders and government officials for failing to address basic needs while enjoying extravagant perks. He called on citizens to demand their rights, emphasizing that the nation’s well-being should take precedence over individual interests.

Lodhi’s remarks come as protests over Karachi’s severe water shortage intensify. For over two weeks, residents have struggled with little to no water supply. Enraged citizens, supported by Jamaat-i-Islami, staged demonstrations at 15 locations across the city, leading to traffic jams in areas like Shahra-e-Quaideen and Hasan Square.

Protesters questioned why water was available for tankers but not for households. The crisis began after damage to the 84-inch main pipeline on University Road on November 29. Despite repairs, the supply remains disrupted, leaving Karachiites desperate for a resolution.
