The U.S. Central Command’s magazine, Unipath, has recognized General Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, as a strong advocate against violent extremism. Since assuming his role in November 2022, General Munir has led Pakistan’s armed forces with a focus on counter-terrorism, stability, and national security.
The publication praised General Munir’s leadership, emphasizing his commitment to Pakistan’s prosperity and the military’s success under his command. In his tenure, over 22,000 intelligence-based operations have been conducted, leading to the elimination of nearly 400 terrorists. These operations targeted extremist groups within Pakistan and beyond, including actions against hideouts in Iran.
