Pakistani cricket star Babar Azam has donated one of his game-worn Test jerseys to the Usman Khawaja Foundation, a gesture that reflects the growing camaraderie between Pakistani and Australian players. The shirt will be auctioned to raise funds for the foundation, which supports youth from refugee, immigrant, Indigenous, and low-income backgrounds.
Babar presented the jersey to Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja during a recent meetup in Brisbane, where he is currently training with his team. This isn’t Babar’s first donation to the Australian cricket community; he also contributed his bat to an exhibition showcasing memorabilia from prominent players.
Usman Khawaja, an Australian batter of Pakistani heritage, established his foundation to provide cricket and educational opportunities to underprivileged youth. As he readies for Australia’s five-match Test series against India, Khawaja continues his mission to create diversity and access within the sport.
