Former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, has made history as the first Pakistani to be elected as a bencher at the prestigious Middle Temple in the United Kingdom. Isa, who retired on October 25, will be honored in a special ceremony at the historic legal institution where he once studied law.

Isa received an invitation in May but requested the event be scheduled after his retirement. The ceremony is now set for October 29. This achievement also follows in the footsteps of his father, Qazi Isa, who was a Middle Temple graduate as well.

Middle Temple, one of the four Inns of Court in London, is renowned for its role in educating law students and granting legal licenses. Founded in the 14th century, it holds a distinguished place in the British legal tradition, making Isa’s election a remarkable milestone for Pakistan’s legal community and a tribute to his judicial legacy.
