Hit Series Mirzapur to Be Adapted into Feature Film, Marking Return of Munna Bhaiya

Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment have announced plans to bring their popular crime-thriller series Mirzapur to the big screen. Scheduled for a 2026 release, this adaptation marks one of India’s first digital-to-cinema transitions, creating significant buzz among fans. The film will be directed by series creator Puneet Krishna, alongside co-director Gurmmeet Singh, who directed 17 episodes of the show.

The original cast, including Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi, will reprise their iconic roles. A promotional teaser shared on Instagram sees Divyenndu, as Munna—who met a dramatic end in Season 2—declaring, “Hum kehte thay na, hum amar hain”.

After an eight-week theatrical run, the film will stream on Prime Video in 240 countries. With Mirzapur Season 3 setting viewership records, Prime Video’s Manish Menghani expressed excitement, saying this cinematic expansion will deepen fans’ connection to the franchise’s powerful storytelling and intense drama.
