In a shocking incident, a Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) team was held hostage by wedding hall employees during a routine tax inspection in Karachi on Dalmia Road. The incident occurred when FBR officials arrived to investigate suspected under-reporting of income at the venue.
According to Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Hamza, the staff unexpectedly resisted the officials’ inspection and detained the team, sparking a tense standoff. Hamza was notified and arrived swiftly to negotiate for the team’s release, securing freedom for some members.
