Last night, the interim government made a significant announcement regarding petrol/diesel prices, revealing a surge slated for the upcoming fortnight. This increase in petrol amounts to Rs.4.13, reaching Rs.279.75 per liter. However, in contrast, the diesel rate will remain steady at Rs.287.33 per liter.

According to a notification from the Finance Division, the adjusted petrol/diesel prices in Pakistan are effective for the next two weeks until March 15th. Earlier indications had hinted at the likelihood of a gasoline price surge as well.

Initial reports from last week suggested a potential increase in petrol of up to Rs.4 per liter. However, more recent reports suggested a slightly lower hike of Rs.3.5 per liter this week.

Previously, petrol was priced at Rs.275.62 per liter in Pakistan, while diesel remained at Rs.287.33 per liter. This adjustment in petrol prices reflects ongoing fluctuations in the global oil market, impacting consumers and industries alike.
