In an unexpected turn of events, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has taken up a new hobby – sword making during his Asia tour. The tech mogul recently spent an afternoon learning the art of crafting katanas from professional swordsmith master Akihira Kokaji in Japan.

From code to katana…

Mark Zuckerberg shared his experience on Instagram, posting photos and videos of himself hammering and shaping a piece of steel into a sharp and intricate blade. The footage has since gone viral with many marveling at the tech CEO’s newfound passion.

While it may seem surprising for a tech executive to take up an ancient craft like sword making, Zuckerberg is no stranger to learning new skills. In the past, he has famously taken on personal challenges such as learning Mandarin and coding his home automation system.
