Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached a significant milestone, becoming the most-followed global leader on the social networking site X (formerly known as Twitter) with over 100 million followers.

This achievement places him ahead of notable figures such as Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, who has 64.1 million followers, and American singer Taylor Swift, who has 95.3 million followers.

As the first Prime Minister to amass 100 million followers, Modi joins an exclusive group of world leaders who have leveraged social media to engage with the public and disseminate their messages effectively.

Despite Modi’s significant following, former US President Barack Obama remains the most-followed political figure worldwide, boasting over 131.7 million followers. Following Obama, former US President Donald Trump ranks third with 87.4 million followers.
