The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the qualified teams for the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Pakistan securing a spot despite their early exit in the recently concluded edition.

The 2026 tournament, to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will feature the same format as the 2024 edition: four groups of five teams, followed by Super Eights stages, semi-finals, and a final.

While India and Sri Lanka automatically qualify as hosts, the remaining ten spots were determined through various factors. Teams that advanced to the Super Eights in the 2024 World Cup, including Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the USA, and the West Indies, secured their place.

Pakistan, despite their early exit in the 2024 tournament, managed to qualify for the 2026 edition based on their T20I ranking (7th) as of June 30th. They join New Zealand (6th) and Ireland (11th) who also qualified based on their rankings.

The remaining teams will be decided through regional qualifiers, with the exact number of spots per region to be confirmed by the ICC.
