Pakistani Sisters Secure Gold Medals At Weightlifting Championship In South Africa

Pakistani weightlifters Sehar Sohail and Veronika Sohail have clinched gold medals at the ongoing Weightlifting Championship in Potchefstroom, South Africa. The sisters dominated their respective weight categories (52kg and 57kg), excelling in all disciplines – squat, bench press, deadlift, and overall weight.

This impressive feat by the Sohail sisters brings them personal glory and elevates Pakistan’s standing in the sport. The Weightlifting Federation Secretary, Rashid Malik, confirmed this victory increases Pakistan’s total gold medal count to eight at the Asian Pacific African Combined Weightlifting Championship.

The sisters’ success has ignited national pride, inspiring many across Pakistan. Their journey to the championship was supported by the Sports Board Punjab.
