Young Pakistani squash players are making a racket on the world stage. Abdullah Zaman and Ahmed Ali Naz brought home silver medals at the recently concluded Qatar Junior Squash Championship in Doha, showcasing Pakistan’s rising talent in the sport.
Silver lining for Pakistan’s squash team
Abdullah Zaman, competing in the Under-15 category, battled his way through the tournament, captivating audiences with his exceptional skills and technique. He fought valiantly in the finals, ultimately securing a well-deserved silver medal.
Ahmed Ali Naz, meanwhile, impressed everyone in the Under-11 category. His agility, quick reflexes, and smart on-court strategies were a sight to behold. He displayed not only impressive talent but also great sportsmanship throughout the competition.
“We are incredibly proud of these young athletes. This championship was highly competitive with players from all over the world vying for victory. Our boys showed immense talent and proved they can compete with the best”,said a spokesperson for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association.
These silver medals are not just individual triumphs; they highlight the depth of talent emerging from Pakistan’s squash scene. Abdullah, interestingly, is the grandson of the legendary Qamar Zaman, adding a special legacy to his accomplishment.
