PCB To Shift Lahore & Rawalpindi PSL Matches To Karachi After Punjab Govt Demands PKR 500 Million

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has faced yet another setback, with the Lahore and Rawalpindi leg of the tournament set to be shifted to Karachi due to a demand from the Punjab government for a payment of PKR 500 million.

PCB & fans disappointed by the unusual ask

The decision to move the matches has been met with disappointment by cricket fans in Lahore and Rawalpindi, who were looking forward to watching their home teams play on their own turf. However, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has assured fans that it will do everything possible to ensure that the matches are played in a safe and secure environment.

The PCB has also stated that it is shocked by the demand from the Punjab government, which it sees as an attempt to extort money from the tournament. An emergency meeting with the franchise owners has also been called to come up with a solution as PCB has already paid PKR 5 crores for the tournament.

Initially, PSL 8 was scheduled to play on four venues across Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan but now it might be different. Well, despite these challenges, the PSL remains a highly anticipated event for cricket fans in Pakistan and around the world.
