In an unexpected turn of events, Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha has sparked controversy with his recent remarks alleging electoral manipulation in the region. Chattha claimed that independent candidates who were poised to win were deliberately made to lose through the use of fake stamps and other irregularities during the election process.

“70,000 votes lost due to rigging”

Addressing reporters in Rawalpindi, Chattha expressed his frustration, stating that the term “irregularities” hardly encapsulated the extent of the malpractice. He went on to detail instances where independent candidates, leading by significant margins of 70,000-80,000 votes were unfairly disadvantaged by the insertion of fake stamps.

Despite the gravity of his allegations, Chattha asserted that he felt no pressure to retract his statements or compromise his integrity. He maintained his stance, emphasizing his commitment to upholding the integrity of the electoral process and refusing to be complicit in any actions detrimental to the nation.
