King Salman of Saudi Arabia underwent medical tests for a lung condition on Sunday following the recommendation of the Royal Clinics, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). This follows a similar episode in May when the 88-year-old monarch experienced a lung infection accompanied by fever and joint pain. At that time, the Royal Clinics at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah recommended a treatment regimen of antibiotics to combat the infection.
King Salman recently led a cabinet meeting on September 27, focusing on private colleges, while Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired the meeting on October 1. Last month, King Salman also underwent a routine check-up at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah.

King Salman’s health has been under regular medical scrutiny in recent years. He underwent a colonoscopy in May 2022, and doctors replaced the batteries in his pacemaker in March 2022. In July 2020, the king had surgery to remove his gallbladder after an inflammation. The king has ruled Saudi Arabia since 2015, while Crown Prince Mohammed, 38, has served as his successor since 2017.
