The beloved world of Game of Thrones may be making its way to the big screen, as reports suggest that a movie based on the hit series is in the early stages of development. According to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline, Warner Bros Discovery has started preliminary work on a potential Game of Thrones film.
The original HBO series, which aired from 2011 to 2019, was a global sensation, drawing millions of viewers and winning 59 Emmys over its eight seasons. Adapted from George R.R. Martin’s fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire, the show has already inspired spinoffs like House of the Dragon, with more TV projects in progress.
While Martin and showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss previously discussed the possibility of movies set in the Game of Thrones universe, Warner Bros Discovery had not shown interest until now. Industry insiders suggest that recent leadership changes and the success of other franchises transitioning between cinema and television, such as The Batman and Dune, have influenced this shift.

Currently, there have only been early discussions with no actors attached. Warner Bros has not provided any official comments on the project.
