The Sindh High Court recently issued a temporary restraining order against Geo Super, a Pakistani sports channel, from broadcasting the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 matches. The order came after a petition was filed by ARY News Network against Geo Super for alleged violations of their broadcasting rights.

Broadcasting rights – ARY News Network x PTV x Geo Super

The PCB has exclusive broadcasting rights for the PSL 8 matches, and they had granted those rights to a different sports channel. However, Geo Super went ahead and started broadcasting the matches without obtaining the proper rights, leading to legal action.

As the world becomes increasingly digital, the protection of intellectual property rights is becoming more important than ever.
