In recent news, a wedding night in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, took an unexpected turn when a bride’s unusual demands led to a heated conflict, ultimately involving the police. The incident unfolded during the traditional “mu dikhai” ceremony, where the bride reveals her face to the groom.
According to Hindustan Times, the bride requested beer, marijuana, and mutton from her new husband. While the groom obliged with the beer, tensions escalated when she insisted on the other two items. Feeling uncomfortable, the groom confided in his family, who decided to seek assistance from the local police.

At the police station, the matter took an even stranger turn when the groom’s family accused the bride of being a transperson. This allegation deepened the rift between the families. Despite the tensions, neither side lodged a formal complaint. Instead, the police facilitated a detailed discussion, urging the families to resolve their differences amicably.
After the mediation, both families left the station to deliberate privately. The groom’s family pledged to address the situation at home, aiming to find a resolution without escalating the matter further.
